Creamy and petite seed pearls prong set within a golden floral design, are featured in this antique Victorian jet bar brooch, circa 1880s.

The elegant vintage mourning or “memento mori” pin consists of a polished Whitby jet, in a rectangular cut with concave surface, and embedded with a gold filled floral design and seed pearl trim to signify tears.

The brooch has an japanned metal backing riveted into place, and goldfill pinstem with tube hinge and hooded c-catch, measures approximately 2&1/16  inches across, and weighs 8.3 grams.
